Our Guide to Replacing Your AC

When it comes to air conditioning in Corona, you can look to our team for expert guidance. We have the knowledge and know how to get the job done right and the education to back it up. We know that the process of choosing a new air conditioner alone can be a big task, not to mention the installation process following.

The good news is that we will be here every step of the way to help you. You can keep reading to learn more about how to select a replacement air conditioner and what to expect during the installation process. Then give our team a call to schedule your in-home assessment.

Choose a New Unit

You have a lot of options when it comes to a new air conditioner. You can go with a more standard central air conditioner, a more modern ductless, mini split or anything in between. Our team can talk to you about your needs and expectations to help you pick the perfect air conditioner for your family and home.

If you want to save more upfront on installation, a central air conditioner may be better. However, if you don’t mind spending a little more upfront, a ductless mini split is a great option because it can slash your energy bills in half over the lifespan of the unit. No matter what type of air conditioner you get, we can talk to you about selecting a unit with a high SEER rating so you know that you’re getting a highly efficient air conditioner no matter what.

Set Aside Time for Installation

Once you select an air conditioner, our team can offer an installation time frame estimate. Most of the time an air conditioning installation is an all day job that will take around eight hours. For simpler replacements, we may be able to get it done sooner; but if you’re switching to an entirely new type of air conditioner compared to what you have now, the installation may take a little longer.

The bottom line is, you want to clear your schedule for the day and plan to be home. Although we don’t need your help directly with installation, we encourage you to be there in case we need to ask questions about indirect needs that come up or get your help moving belongings out of the way.

Prepare in Advance

Once you have your installation date scheduled, it’s time to prepare your home. There’s nothing you need to do to your air conditioner, but you can clear the areas around where our team will be working. We can talk to you about that during our initial in-home assessment. Ideally, we would like to have furniture and other household items moved in advance so we can get right to work when we arrive.

You’ll also need to clear a wide path to the doorway so we can easily remove your old unit and bring the new one inside. These same tasks go for the area around the outdoor portion of your air conditioning unit. It’s also crucial that pets and children are kept in a separate area of your home or away for the day if possible.

Take Care from Day One

Once your air conditioner gets installed, it is important for you to keep up with annual maintenance. This includes maintenance that you perform as a homeowner, as well as scheduling a tune-up with our team of experts. These maintenance steps are the best way to ensure energy efficiency and a long lifespan for your new air conditioning unit.
