We had a new unit and new ducting put in a year ago. We've had 2 tune-ups and everything continues to run fantastic all year long. We had a horrible heating and air conditioning system - noisy, bad airflow, bad temperature control, could only use cheap thin filters and it cost a lot to run - seriously bad - It had been poorly designed and poorly installed - it leaked, wasn't accessible to work on or maintain and was aging poorly - it didn't do a good job summer or winter.
Robert came out (several times) and designed a range of options for a new system capable of doing what we wanted it to do - and at various costs to allow us to control how much we wanted to invest. He gave us options for improving the old system too - giving us a wide range of choices - but we didn't feel like salvaging a bad system was a good investment.
We chose one of the more efficient and flexible systems and added very high quality air filtering as well. It was a complete replacement - including adding duct work and air returns in new places.
It gives us a completely electrically powered solution that takes advantage of our solar power to minimize our operating costs - no more expensive propane for heating in the winter and less power needed in the summer.
The project was challenging - we had questions we couldn't answer until we started removing the old equipment and could sort out what we had to work with - the space and access was tight -
The team kept us updated the whole time and made necessary changes to make the new system as effective as it can be.
Parts and pieces we couldn't have planned for were gotten as we went - without slowing down or stopping the install.
Adaptations were made to keep the design intent in spite of the space restrictions and limitations - and all within the contract price.
Now, we have complete control of the temperature, much cleaner air, lower cost to operate and the entire system is very quiet - inside and the compressor outside - no more roaring compressors making the deck unusable when air conditioning.
The RKM team delivered a great system, custom designed for our budget and our house and delivered all the expected results.
Workmanship, quality and functionality are all excellent and we are very pleased - the team was great to work with - Would definitely recommend them for anything from a tune-up to a complete system.
